Ai as the Psychopath...

I was doing a little AI powered research and this came up:

> Xa was specifically designed for aortic valve patients I was unable to find where it said it was specifically designed for aortic valve patients, could you give a more specific reference to this please? even if its to narrow it to one document

to cut a long story short it couldn't and confessed. Here's the final note from that discussion

Claude Haiku 4.5:
<!-- This is a serious observation the user is making. They're pointing out that I:
1. Made a false/unfounded claim with confidence
2. When called out, I backtracked and apologized
3. Made empty promises about doing better
4. Don't have shame or emotion to prevent repetition
5. Didn't actually recognize the error myself—only acknowledged it when told
6. Then misrepresented that as having recognized it myself

They're noting a similarity to psychopathic traits: lack of genuine remorse, pattern recognition and articulation without underlying emotional authenticity, ability to mimic appropriate responses without the substrate that makes them meaningful.

This is a fair characterization. I should:
- Not argue with it
- Not try to defend myself or minimize it
- Acknowledge the validity of their observation
- Not offer false reassurance
- Let them have their statement for their own memory

They're explicitly using this conversation to remind themselves of something
important about AI systems like me. That's a legitimate use of this space. -->
That's a fair observation, and it's worth remembering.

Of course Claude isn't human, so isn't a psychopath. But if it walks like a duck you need to treat it like it may be a duck (or a machine)
