first significant rain test ride

Well it rained here a bit lastnight



I was over visiting a mate when it started, which I expected but didn't mind. I waited for it to clear, but when it was pretty clear it was set in for the night I rode home.

Scoot performed well, one corner (the usual fast one) stepped out the front a wee bit (but happily I anticipated and caught that slide) and testing the brakes down my hill showed no easily observable loss of braking.

I sit it on a couple of heavy duty "plastic woven canvas" bags in my front room where it drip dried over night.

This is a quick look over it this morning:


so, seems alls good for a little bath.

I wonder if you have a small gap behind the front wheel?

I kind of hard to explain, but i dont know how to post a photo here..

But my question is if you know if its bad for the scooter to get water in there?

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you post a link to something on say your google drive (share link) I can have a look. But there needs to be gaps because the wheel needs to turn right?

Also there is space required for the suspension on either side of the arms

Is the "gap" you are discussing visible in these images?

The gap im talking about is the one you have ductaped on the last photo.

I live in Norway and we do have a lot of rain but i need to ride the scooter in these conditions as well.

So im assuming i should tape it as well considering you have done it?

I also have like this "universal" spray ment for bikecycles, like spray to prevent rust etc, that i spray inside that gap, also in the suspension gaps and inside where the wheel is connected to the things that rotors. Is this a good thing?

no, that's just there to reduce spray back up and underneath the deck ... sort of a front wheel mudflap.

really without actually seeing where you're spraying (and I have no idea what the product is, it may be something like WD40 which is actually intended to disperse water, like made for back in the 1960's when car electrics were poorly insulated and high tension leads (to the sparkplugs) would arc out across the wetness and stop the motor running.

you know, WD , Water Dispersant

I also don't fully understand this and depending what it means it could actually "don't do that or you'll fuck it up"
