Very cool clouds

Strips of clouds like this sometimes occur around this area when we have the sorts of rainy weather we've been having lately.

They get to look the most interesting when they're a bit further west and you can see the sun setting under them while they're pouring rain onto you (and its totally clear skies to the west)

Nice shot. Looks like a roll cloud type formation. Looks nice and innocent from the ground but pretty nasty for pilots. Those formations are oftem associated with severe tubulence and wind shear.

Those clouds must have been huge. I love to see clouds, even when they are continuous grey. When you look carefully you can see wonderfully subtle tones in them.

actually the really *huge* cloud was the cumulonimbus which was above the Coastal area and these ones stretch out underneath it among the low lying hills

We get great clouds round these parts
